Instant mood lighting

Mood lighting is the use of lighting to create a specific ambiance or atmosphere in a space. It can play a role in influencing emotions or enhancing the overall experience you have. From setting the lights to certain colors to simply dimming them down to a soft glow, mood lighting is exactly what it sounds like — lighting that you change based on your mood!

Mood lighting comes in all shapes and sizes! Most people just think of warm, dim lighting, but any type of lighting can be called mood lighting. Cool white lighting can help put you in a more focused, awake mood, while certain colors of lighting may help you feel more creative.

The scene gallery in the app has dozens of scenes organized into categories, such as Futuristic, Cozy, Party vibes, and more. To check it out, open the app, tap on a Room or Zone, and tap Hue scene gallery in the My scenes section.

Yes! Our lighting designers create special scenes for various holidays throughout the year. Keep an eye on the scene gallery in the app — they appear there around the holiday. Want to use them during other times of the year? Set the scene, and then save it to the Room to make sure you have access to it year-round. And if you have a Bridge, you can share the scenes with others.

When you make a scene dynamic, it makes the lights cycle through the colors of that scene.  Any scene with different colors — either from the scene gallery or one you created yourself — can be dynamic. Just press the play button on the scene card.

You can also adjust how fast the lights transition through the colors. Once the scene is playing, tap the three dots icon at the right of the scene card. Tap Change dynamic speed, which will open a screen. Use the slider to adjust the scene from 1 (very slow) to 12 (Extreme).
